Meet the Teacher
My name is Mrs. Hubbard but I answer my students as Mrs. H, Mrs. Elsa or my personal favorite, Mrs. Amazing Art Teacher. I always knew I wanted to be an artist but not everybody in my life was supportive of this. Now, I’m happy to say that I’m living my most creative life yet! Currently, my favorite ways of making art involve a lot of power tools or sweet ingredients from the kitchen! In the studio you can often find me creating architecture paintings of important buildings or functional ceramic forms. Being an artist requires fresh ideas that only spark from being a lifelong learner. Thankfully, my curiosity makes it easy to fill my sketchbook with ideas from inspiration around me. I’m always looking for an adventure to climb, paint, write or sketch its way into my life giving me plenty of stories to tell through art.
Our Classroom
The Art classroom is a safe place for students to experiment with new techniques and materials while learning both traditional and nontraditional methods of creation. Encouraging students to draw from their own inspiration, interests and experience is crucial to self-discovery at any age. By allowing students the freedom to express themselves through art, we invite other subjects and personalities into the classroom to be seen in our artwork, conversation, peer-teaching and relationship building.
